Supporting the Next Generation of Global Engineers

A portion of this year’s proceeds will support the Engineers Without Borders – Howard University student chapter (EWB-HU), a student-led organization using engineering to create sustainable, community-centered solutions. Their work includes local and international initiatives such as the Cardozo High School Scholars Society Program, Saturday Garden Service, and the Kenya Water Project.
Through ethical design, technical collaboration, and meaningful community engagement, EWB-HU gives students the opportunity to apply their skills in ways that create measurable benefits for the communities they serve.

Project Spotlight: Kenya Water Access Initiative

One of EWB-HU’s most impactful initiatives is its work in southwestern Kenya, where the Kogwari community faces ongoing challenges with unreliable and unsafe water sources. In partnership with local leaders and residents, the chapter is helping develop a sustainable water supply system designed to expand access to clean water, support long-term maintenance, and strengthen community ownership. Funds raised through the 2026 Tri-Con Silent Auction will help support construction materials, technical implementation, and water education efforts that can improve public health and quality of life in the Kogwari community.
